Your story so far...

Telling our story has always been an important way to help us to heal and grow.

So today you’re going to write the story of your love life so far: the highs, the lows, the frustrations, the fears, the loves you’ve had, the heartbreaks you’ve been through and the lessons you’ve learnt along the way.
Don’t worry, no one else is going to see this. The idea is to get it all out of your head and your heart. Write it all down so your story lies there on the page.
You can either totally freestyle it or use the questions in Lesson 2 in the Workbook to help get your story out fully.

And when you’re ready, when you’ve got it all out. Come back here...

Now that you've written your story...

How do you feel as you read it back to yourself?
Is it a story of bad luck? A story of bad choices? A story of disappointments and heartache?
Are you looking for people to blame? The men that have come your way? Life? Yourself?
Because what we often find when we get people to first write out the stories of their love lives, is a feeling that they’ve had a run of bad luck when it comes to love.
Sometimes there’s an underlying anger at the people who have hurt them, at themselves for making what they see as bad choices or even at life itself for not having served up a good guy when everyone else seems to be getting one with no problem.
And sometimes there is a sadness or just a frustration that no matter how hard they try it just doesn’t seem to be happening for them.
But whatever the way your story has played out so far, it is time for you to draw a line under it.
And start telling a new story.
Because the story you are currently telling is one of the key things keeping you stuck in your love life.
What many of us don’t realize is that we are all living according to narratives about ourselves and our lives that are impacting hugely on how our lives are turning out.
So if your narrative is that you never meet the right guys, then you are going to be looking at the world (and men) and acting in a way that keeps that story alive.
But here is the exciting part: we are the ones creating those narratives and choosing to live by them. We might not think we are, but we are.
And the reason that is exciting is because it is therefore totally within our power to write a new narrative for ourselves and therefore change the course of our lives.

So it’s time.
Time for you to write a new narrative around your love life.
One that empowers you and sets you up for a happy ending.
So draw a line under your story so far.
Bring an end to this last chapter in your love life.

And get ready to write a new story about how you turned your love life around.
